Well it seems we have a new member of the family. We caught our little visitor in a live trap the other night. It spent the night in a dog crate, and Savannah has been working with it during the day. It seems to be ok with the humans, but its still skittish around Maytag and the other cats. And we have kept it away from Jingles and Daisy.
Perhaps this kitten had previous human contact and was abandoned nearby. That seems likely because it was fairly easy to get it to tolerate being handled. Plus, we’ve seen no evidence of a mother or any littermates.
Savannah has been calling it Bit-Bit, but we’re not sure that is really its name.
If you have any suggestions for a name please leave a comment and let us know.
From Dozer’s Mom: This is how we ended up with three of our four foster cats. They were all stray/feral and somehow ended up in our yard desperate for food.
Enjoy your little kitten! I’ve named so many animals over the years, in my experience the right name will stick no matter what else you come up with. Bit-Bit is a really cute name!
It is so cute!
I agree. Bit-Bit sounds good!
Take care

How fun!!! Just taking things very slowly is probably the best way to tame the little one. It is great how resilient they are and it is wonderful she found such a lovely home!!!!
Can’t wait for updates!!
And Bit Bit is a cute name.

I like Bit-Bit too. Looks like Bit-Bit is a talker!
Kitties are so cute. We like the name Shadow
Cuuuuute kitty! Bit-bit’s a good name, I think.
OMG. I don’t even like cats but this one is just…precious! You didn’t say if it was a male or female…but it looks so…feminine. Looks like a “Claire” to me, but then, I’m an “Outlander” fan and those amber eyes seem to say so much.
This kitten is still a little skittish with people and we have not been able to inspect it closely enough to determine the gender. My wife and daughters, however, agree with you and are convinced its a female.
I had a second thought about the name (if you haven’t found a name yet, that is). Since it’s so skittish…how about “Skitty”?
😀
Thanks, BluEyedDaizy, that’s pretty good. My girls liked “Skitty”, but Bit-Bit seems to have stuck. Thanks for thinking of her…
CUTE Kitty! What a face to die for!
How about Sabrina or Sapphire? Misty? SO CUTE!
That is a precious little kitty-witty!
My daughter and I always wanted a black cat to name Sirius Black. From Harry Potter.
